International Photo Competition "Sustainable Energy"
The international photo competition is now closed. We have received 1.069 pictures from 54 countries. Further information will follow in the coming weeks. The winners will be presented on the World Sustainable Energy Days in Wels on 3 March 2005. |
Participate in the international competition "Sustainable Energy" and show with your pictures how beautiful, how fascinating and how much fun renewable energy and energy efficiency can be!
- You are proud of your energy-efficient building or your installation which uses renewable energy sources?
- In your neighbourhood, there is a wind park, a biomass or a solar installation, a small hydro power station which is very well integrated into the surrounding environment and landscape?
- On your trips in your own country and abroad, you have taken pictures of people and their renewable energy installations?
- Your company manufactures or sells renewable energy equipment and you are convinced yours is the most beautiful?
- You are interested in nature photography and you have taken unique pictures of sun, wind and biomass?
- Through energy innovation your company is among the most efficient and you have pictures documenting it?
Then join our photo competition "Sustainable Energy" and send us your images showing technology, nature and people! 
Who can participate?
- The competition is open to private persons, companies, public institutions, NGOs etc. from all countries of the world
- Each participant can submit up to 5 images
- You can submit digital pictures or prints
When and how to submit your entry?
You can make your submission:
- by eMail to foto [AT] esv.or [DOT] at - the size per picture is limited to 1 MB
- on a CD by mail to the O.Ö. Energiesparverband
- paper prints by mail to the O.Ö. Energiesparverband
Your entry must be accompanied by the submission form (please download here). Please save your digital pictures as .jpg, .tif, .gif (or similar) files. If you are submitting more than one photo, please number them clearly and describe each of them on the submission form.
Submission deadline is 15 January 2005.

What can you win?
One picture is worth a thousand words, but did you know it could also be worth a thousand Euros? The best pictures will be awarded 3 x 1000 Euro and will be published in the international journal "Renewable Energy World". The award ceremony will be held in the frame of the World Sustainable Energy Days 2005 (2-4 March 2005).
Who will be the jury and which selection criteria will be used?
An international jury - consisting of experts from the fields of energy, media and photography - will select the best pictures. Selection criteria will include the artistic quality of the picture, the originality and energy aspects.

What else is important?
- All images are welcome that show renewable energy sources and/or energy efficiency in all their forms (plants & installations, buildings, energy sources, users, landscapes...)
- By submitting your photos you warrant that you own the full copyright to the photagraphs.
- Please do not send transparencies (slides) or negatives, paper prints will not be returned.
- By submitting your pictures, you agree that the organiser of the competition, O.Ö. Energiesparverband, will use them for non-profit publications (website, brochures, press releases etc.).
- The organiser reserves the right to exclude photos from the competition and emphasises that all relevant legislation must be respected. The selection of the jury is final and no objections will be accepted.
